What is TeamHuman.org?

Steve Trutane @ TeamHuman.org's Solano Stroll booth
TeamHuman.org recently had its first ever booth at a public event. It was an atypical booth, since it did not advertise any services or try to sell anything. The booth featured a variety of exercise equipment along with some invited personal trainers. The idea was to encourage people to get in a free workout. We were simply giving away fitness to any and all takers.

Kids jumped right in and began asking about and using the equipment without hesitation. But the adults were a different story. There were lots of questions about what TeamHuman.org is and does, and where it is located. Allow me to clarify.

While it is a registered business in the city of Albany, CA (as of 2009), TeamHuman.org has no physical location. It is fundamentally a web presence -- hence the fact that the business name is the URL (the-medium-is-the-message concept here).

It is owned and operated by me (Steve Trutane, pictured above) in my spare time. TeamHuman.org is basically my effort to leave humanity in better shape than I found it, literally and figuratively. This is a work in progress, proceeding along the lines spelled out in the the 4-part mission statement and philosophy.

Though it does have its own Facebook page and a moderately active Twitter page, much of the activity of TeamHuman.org takes place within its sub-projects listed on the homepage. Promoting physical fitness is currently the primary area of concern, as explained there.

TeamHuman.org is always interested in your feedback and participation. Feel free to comment here or on the FB page or by tweeting to @teamhuman_org or contact me via email. This is a team effort!
